Spirit of the Clyde with The Riverside Museum
Ideal for history and whisky lovers; guests seeking a tour with a twist; groups and individuals with an interest in the River Clyde and its past.
Collaborating with our neighbours at Riverside Museum, your guests will go on a journey of the history of our dockside setting – an area rich in comings and goings, where people started new lives and whisky was sent out to the world.
Start with a curated tour of Riverside Museum where your guide will take you through the history of the docks which played a significant role in the history of Glasgow and the UK. Learn more about the goods that were traded and the opportunities to come to Glasgow to live and work, or start a new life beyond the UK.
We’ll then journey (2-minute drive / 10-minute walk) to the 5-star Clydeside Distillery, where a whisky cocktail awaits! Guests will explore the distillery’s dockside story in their own time, discover fascinating tales about the birth of the whisky industry, featuring live footage and animation bringing history to life.
Next, a Clydeside expert will show guests around the Distillery, introduce the lively craftsmen as they handcraft whisky before it’s barrelled and matured – using traditional methods and time-honoured skills with a spectacular view over the Clyde.
To round off the tour guests will sample 3 single malt Scotch whiskies.
